Fiji - Paradise on earth

I spent two weeks in beautiful Fiji starting near Nadi in the Bamboo Resort, heading to the countryside with a car nearly getting stuck, to Bouty Island afterwards and finally the Anchorage near Lautoka. Looking fordward to the indish festival of light on the 23th.

Bounty Island

After some days on the main island I took a boat to Bounty Island, it was a long drive and more or less a sightseeing tour!

The island itself was not that crowded, which is good. Amie invided right me after my arrival to join their table together with the chef (cook). I also got to know the owner and  the manager. We had a lot of talks, laughs and great evenings, I even got a job offer starting January! Well it really was an unbelivable time in the middle of the sea on a great island. Thanks again for your hospitality and shouting "some" drinks!

My morning view, enjoying the shade at daytime or watching the sunset. Maybe the best place to be ?

Besides relaxing I used to run around the Island, snorkel or help here and there. And having great evenings with the crew, I consider not showing pictures ;)

Oh and rocking the submarine with amie being tourguides! Making the visitors happy even if the view is not that clear.

Bamboo and trip into the countryside

The Bamboo is one of I think 5 great backpacker places near Nadi having a awesome bar and even better staff. We had fun every evening sitting at a bonfire, playing rugby or drinking Kava, a traditional drink out of the Kava root. Sitting together singing songs from all over the world as well.

Moreover I learned why not to have any food in the room: the ants will find out and bring their whole family and start eating ;) I know a lot more songs now and also how to play touch rugby. Fijians are maybe the kindest people  on our planet, always friendly and funny.

Thanks alot Bamboo for that awesome time!

One day we hit the road and endet up almost stuck on some very bad roads. The mainroad is well maintained but the one through the mountains is sometimes worn out by busses and trucks which form some kind of barrierer of stones right in the middle. We planed to return at 6 or 7 but had a flat tire at 9 and were finally back at 12, happy not getting stuck somewhere. It was a great adventure, we saw a lot of the beautiful countryside and I will get a four wheel drive or at least a car with more space underneath next time. But we made it, with alot of rattling and struggling singing Bob Marley "dont worry about a thing..."

Putting the spare tire on and driving very carefully we made it back to Nadi round about 11:30!
